BANDITS-MAGES<\/strong>, in the context of Rencontres<\/strong>, invited the students of ENSA of Bourges<\/strong> to participate in the aqua_forensic*<\/strong> workshop proposed by Gjino \u0160uti\u0107 (HR)<\/strong> and Robertina \u0160ebjani\u010d (SI)<\/strong> from November 20 to 23 2018 in Bourges.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n

During the workshop participants will be get introduced to the problematics of contemporary invisible water pollutants through practice by mentors Gjino \u0160uti\u0107 (HR)<\/strong> and Robertina \u0160ebjani\u010d (SI). <\/strong><\/p>\n

Through hybrid approach (combining science, DIY citizen\u2019s science & art) these topics will be investigated in local environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These invisible chemical pollutants are very present and mostly are the legal & illegal drugs \u2013 mood controllers, antibiotics, antimycotics, painkillers, hormone pills etc.<\/div>\n
During the workshop we will work on in-vitro experiments with pharmaceuticals to see what is their impact on the microorganisms.
\nWorkshop will also include field trip – investigation of local underwater environment with the hydrophones for using auditory senses in research and scientific tools to analyse water on site and collect soil & water sample for further lab analysis.<\/div>\n

aqua_forensic<\/p>\n

*Biotweaking – \u201cact of improving biological organisms on any level, by available means, to exhibit and use to their full potential\u201d, concept coined by Gjino \u0160uti\u0107 to fully define his philosophy and work. Biotweaking mostly relies on DIY biotechnology – biohacking for achieving desired goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

**Aquatocene – is a series of research-based artworks initiated by Robertina \u0160ebjani\u010d that deals with cultural, (bio)political and\u00a0<\/span>biological realities of aquatic environments and its consequences \/ challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n
