This summer, BANDITS-MAGES<\/strong> is running the fourth edition of the VJ & LIVE AUDIOVISUAL PERFORMANCE MASTER CLASS\u00a0 <\/strong>in co-construction with\u00a0Laurent Carlier <\/strong>(VJ artist and director of Vision\u2019R VJ Festival),A-li-ce <\/strong>(Vj and video artist),\u00a0Jan Bode <\/strong>(sound artist) and\u00a0G\u00e9rald Kurdian <\/strong>(artist, performer and musician).<\/span><\/p>\n After many years teaching VJing, sound and directing, they train and support participants in the creation of audiovisual performances.<\/span><\/p>\n [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n As well as technical and theoretical training on live visual and sound tools, the masterclass invites you to think of pictures and sounds as how to reveal worlds and “\u00eatres-au-monde” (relationships to the world), as alternatives to control systems and how to step out of the box. The participants are encouraged to bring their own databases of images, sounds and original music. They will be able to record sound and images on the spot. \nImagined as a common construction and a sharing of points of view, VJ creation opens up a new relationship to pictures and a constant re-invention process. It’s a “factory” of other stories where we can imagine a world that we would like to see and live in, after having deconstructed and made a critical analysis of the one in which we live.
\nBetween returning and hijacking, the live activations of the images and sounds used will thus express desires which do not put off existence, which remember its History and which open up multiple futures.
\nThis liberation of images invents the processes of freeing up present events taken\/imprisoned in “the shock doctrine”, like in re-editing of “temps subis” (lived-with time) suggested by the historian Georges Didi-Huberman.
\nFrom the Aby Warburg’s Atlas Mn\u00e9mosyne to images circulating in social networks, passing by books of emblems, allegorical editing enables to “call the real world” by assembling moving partial connections.
\nUsing databases of Bandits-Mages and P\u00f4le patrimoine <\/strong>de\u00a0Ciclic archives, <\/strong>the master class will enable participants to share the creation of a relationship between images and sounds played live.<\/p>\n
\nEveryone will work on an audiovisual performance which will be played on the last day of the masterclass inside a collective creation in La Friche l’Antre-Peaux.<\/p>\n\n

\n<\/strong>Laurent Carlier has worked as a VJ for 15 years and coordinates Vision\u2019R VJ Festival (international nomad VJ festival) . He also created Vision’R – Ecole VJ, a nomad VJ training which is orientated towards popular education and which explores the VJ medium as a wide practice crossing different live creation fields.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>A-li-ce (FR, Berlin) works as a video artist, mainly in the live video field. She played in many audiovisual festivals (Mapping Festival (Ch), Videoformes (Fr), RoBOt Festival (It), Mira (ES), Vision’R (Fr), etc.), with solo live video performances and collective projects<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Jan Bode, born in 1978, is a German music composer and video artist, mainly in the field of audiovisual performances and live cinema. He studied Media Science at the Georg-August-University in G\u00f6ttingen and graduated 2011 in Visual Communication at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (School for Art and Design Kassel).<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>The music and performance artist G\u00e9rald Kurdian, studied Visual arts at ENSAPC (National Art School, Cergy-Pontoise) and contemporay dance as part of the dance training Ex.e.r.ce.
\nHis quirky works are regularly played in the fields of performing arts, visual arts and indie music.
\nHe has developed since 2017 the project HOT BODIES OF THE FUTURE!, which is a performative and music project about queer<\/em>Micro-politics and the alternative forms of\u00a0 sexuality, especially as part of the post-diploma Arts et Cr\u00e9ation Sonore<\/em>at ENSAB (National Art School, Bourges.<\/p>\n
