This festival offers screening and broadcasting<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> througho<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ut<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> year, produces works using contemporary media, design and conducts wokshops.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, Bandits-Mages is changing over to a new transmission space and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> abov<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> all the Rencontres presents i<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tself<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a collective creative time-space. It will now be a prototype of a DIY school where production and broadcasting tools are at the service of research for students, artists and curators who come together via shared<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hacker ethics<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Programs will emerge from this \u201cbeing together\u201d as an invitation to others to join us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t is within t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">his<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> framework that we are creating an open call for students and emerging artists interested by<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hybridization<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and becoming queer. In the manner of Bandits-Mages origins we&#8217;ll screen research films, film studies and experimental movies in multiple spaces: theater, cinema and transmedia stage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This call is focus on three topics:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Witchcraft<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Trans_plant and Specement (the embodiment of hybrid species).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No duration limit for films.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each applicant can choose one or several topics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subscription is free.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Deadline is extended to July the 15th.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chosen programs done in regard on proposals will be announced at the end of July.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Witchcraft<\/h4>\n<p>An invitation to technoshamanisms, to vampire knowledge and to cyborg sabbat. An invitation to a re-appropriation of the notion of sorcery, entirely distanced from any associations with black magic, esoterism, or other definitions produced by the medieval Catholicism, the colonization, fairy tales or Disney\u2019s films.<br \/>\nIf we distance ourselves from these definitions from a transfeminist perspective, we find ourselves inside a set of practices, that through the manipulation of symbols, bodies, substances, objects, views and spaces, aim at the modification\/creation of our identities, relationships, and surroundings. A mixture of practices that witches used to name \u201cart\u201c or \u201carts\u201c, from which we assume that they could call themselves\u2026 \u201cartists\u201c. So, the covens were encounters of collective art.<\/p>\n<h4>Trans_plant<\/h4>\n<p>How to consider a transition process: human\/plant\/machine? How to switch from red blood to green chlorophyl? How to transit from Anthropocene to the Donna Haraway&#8217;s Chthulucene? How to move from identification to mutation? How to inhabit our ecosystems with radical tender?<br \/>\nHow to become compost?<br \/>\nHow to desert species?<\/p>\n<h4>Specement<\/h4>\n<p>Specement is a collective and musical way to inhabit a matrix-world : mutable and durable, multiple and unique, hybrid ecosytems.<br \/>\nThese worlds are gestational caves which deliver trans-species at the end of high rituals of pedagogical experimenations between humans and non-humans.<br \/>\nSpecement is also a creative attention which consist of bringing into existence that which \u00a0has\u00a0not\u00a0yet\u00a0come, or of seeing in a different way what we are supposed to see.<br \/>\nSpecement is about how to invent fictions of worlds without us, of us without the world, of us before the world and of worlds after us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bandits-mages.antrepeaux.net\/open-call-rencontres-2016\/2\/\">Next page : Regulation <i class=\"fa fa-arrow-circle-right\"><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h4>Regulation<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>All work must be entered online. If the soundtrack is in a\u00a0language other than french, french subtitles are strongly recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The deadline for receiving work is\u00a0extended to July 15th 2016.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The results of the selections will be published on-line at <strong>the end of July 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sending video work for projections<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For all videos selected for projection during the Gathering, the author, video maker or a representative should supply the work, in an uncompressed format, no sooner than 30 days before the start of the Gathering.\u00a0Postage will be at the expense of the candidates who shall have no recourse of any kind against the organizers including for damage or loss of work in transit.<br \/>\n<strong>For work sent through Customs, add the following label \u00abof no commercial value\u00bb (or \u00ab sans valeur commerciale \u00bb for French Customs).<br \/>\n<\/strong>DVDs (or SD cards, pen drive, and so on&#8230;) can be returned to the author\/artist on request provided that an adequately stamped envelope is supplied.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communication and catalogue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you wish to promote work in the Rencontres&#8217;s advertising supports, its website, please supply one to three photos of the work, uploading them into their online application with a synopsis in English, Spanish and French.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expenses covered<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meals will be offered to all authors of work selected for the Rencontres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Authorisation to distribute \/ Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The authors certify that they possess all the rights needed to screen their work (film script, music etc) and they allow Bandits-Mages to enjoy these rights within the framework of and during the Rencontres.<\/li>\n<li>Extracts from selected works, in whatever form &#8211; catalogues, programmes, invitations, press, Internet or television &#8211; may be used to promote the Rencontres.<\/li>\n<li>Any selected work will be included in the Bandits-Mages video collection, unless the author explicitly forbids this on the enrolment form.<\/li>\n<li>Selected work shown at Gathering may be screened for promotional purposes, in non-commerical festivals and events in France or abroad.
